Statement of Comparability

The UK NARIC Statement of Comparability is a document that can be used in support of your international qualifications.
It guides universities, colleges, employers and professional bodies on how your qualifications (including professional qualifications) relate to UK qualifications and certificates.
It is not a compulsory document, but it can be specifically requested by an organisation.
In general, the document can be of great help when applying for work or study in the UK. Here is an example Statement of Comparability.

How to apply for a Statement of Comparability

If you require a written Statement of Comparability, you can apply online.
You can register and complete your entire application online. You can track the progress of your application, and contact UK NARIC using the built-in messaging function.
You can also apply by post. We will need paper copies (not originals) of all your documents (detailed below) and a letter giving your contact details and the purpose of your enquiry.

We need the following from you:

If you apply online, you can upload scanned files. If you apply by post, send photocopies. Do NOT send original certificates.

1. A copy of your certificate(s) together with copies of final transcript(s) in the original language.
2. A copy of a certified translation in English, if necessary, OR a Diploma Supplement and/or Certificate Supplement issued in English. If you need a certified translation, contact your local translation agencies or your Embassy. OR if your certificate is in Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Danish, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, then we can work with your certificate in the original language and you do not need to supply a translation. For this, you need our Translation Waiver service.
3. Select a postage/delivery option and include payment for services plus postage/delivery.

If applying by post, include your contact details and a note to explain the purpose of your enquiry. Do not send a self-addressed envelope - your postage payment includes postage and packing. If you apply online, include any extra information in the “Application Notes” field on the screen.

Costs

For certificates presented to us in English, OR with Certified Translations OR with a Diploma Supplement and/or Certificate Supplement in English - the Statement of Comparability costs £46.00 + VAT* (£55.20), plus postage for your selected postage/delivery option.
Translation Waiver and Fast Track services cost extra

How long does it take?

Normally – 10-15 working days (non-Fast Track) from the date we receive all documents and payment from you - plus postage/delivery time.
Note that this is not guaranteed. In some cases, less common qualifications may require additional research and may take longer. In these cases, we will let you know - you will be able to withdraw your application, if you wish.
